Welcome to Holker Lane Dog Field's terms of service! By using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
You and your dogs
We want you and your furry companions to have a delightful experience, and we kindly request that you carefully read and follow these rules for the benefit of everyone involved.
We reserve the right to ban any user who fails to comply with the dog field rules outlined in these terms and conditions. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Before making a booking, please take a moment to review and agree to all the terms and conditions provided below.
General Rules
- To ensure a smooth visit, it is necessary to pre-book and pay for your session in advance. During your booked time, you will have exclusive access to the field.
- Booking Slots begin on the hour, every hour. We kindly ask that you promptly vacate the field at the end of your session, allowing the next client to access the field on time.
- To maintain a balanced schedule, we kindly request that you arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your booking.
- While waiting for your session to start, you may enter the car park, but please remain in your car until the previous user has safely secured their dogs in their vehicle.
- If you happen to arrive late for your session, please be aware that your session must still conclude at the scheduled end time.
- For the safety of all visitors, please keep your dogs on a lead when outside the secure field area.
- It's important to remember that not all dogs are friendly, and some may exhibit aggressive or sensitive behaviour. To ensure safety, please keep your dogs and other users always separated.
- Once inside the field, please secure the gate from the inside to prevent unauthorized access.
- We kindly request that you refrain from leaving your dog(s) unattended in the field. Your dog’s remain under your responsibility at all times.
- To allow the next user to start their session promptly, please ensure that you have exited the field and returned to your car by the end of your allocated time.
- After your session has finished, we kindly ask that you promptly leave the car park.
- To maintain the field's condition, we request that you do not allow your dog(s) to dig holes.
- For the comfort and health of all visitors, smoking is not permitted within the field.
- We kindly request that you take any litter home with you and refrain from using the dog poo bin for general waste disposal.
- For the safety of children, they must be always accompanied and supervised by an adult.
Biosecurity
It is a requirement for all dog owners using our facilities to prioritize the health and safety of their furry companions. Please take note of the following guidelines:
Vaccinations and Wormer Treatment
- Before visiting the field, please ensure that your dog has received their initial vaccination (often called a Primary Course) at around eight weeks of age. Additionally, we kindly request that all dogs are up to date with their wormer treatment.
- If your dog is unwell, we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing them to the field to prevent the potential spread of illness.
Dog Poo
- To maintain cleanliness within the field, please bring your own biodegradable poo bags and responsibly dispose of your dog's waste in the bins provided. It is your responsibility to collect your dog(s) poo.
- We appreciate your help in keeping the field tidy. If you come across any missed waste, please kindly pick it up and dispose of it properly.
Cancellations
- Bookings can be modified or cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled session. Unfortunately, cancellations within 24 hours of the booked slot cannot be refunded or rescheduled. If you need to cancel before this time, please reach out to us through our contact page.
- It is your responsibility to check the weather conditions before making a booking. We are unable to change or cancel bookings within 24 hours of the session due to factors such as excessive heat, rain, wind, cold, snow, storms, etc.
- If you encounter any issues while using the field or need to report a problem with another field user, please send a text message to 07776796888.
- Your feedback is highly valuable to us as we constantly strive to improve our services. If you have any suggestions or concerns, please email us with your comments, compliments, or complaints.
Safety and Security
Using the Field
- Please keep your dog on a lead until you have entered the designated dog field.
- To enter the field, use the pedestrian gate and enter the access code provided to you via Text/WhatsApp when payment is received.
- Ensure that you securely shut the gate both when entering and leaving the field.
- Only unleash your dog(s) once you have entered the field and closed the gate behind you.
BANNED or RESTRICTED BREEDS:
- Owners of banned or restricted breeds, such as XL bully, must adhere to all regulations stipulated by government https://www.gov.uk/control-dog-public/banned-dogs
- Banned or restricted dogs must be kept on a muzzle until through the pedestrian gate into the dog field
- If the household has more than 1 dog, they can come to the field together as long as they have a minimum of 1 handler. All dogs leads and muzzles can be removed once in the field including the XL Bully.
If there are dogs from different households, the banned breed will need to remain muzzled and on a lead at all times with a 1:1 handler.
Our insurer has contacted us to confirm that they will provide insurance cover for banned breeds to use secure dog fields subject to them meeting certain conditions. These are as follows:
- It is a condition precedent to liability that for any dog which is a banned breed under the dangerous dogs act 1991 and/or as subsequently amended within the united kingdom the following guidelines are strictly adhered to whilst the dog is in your care, custody or control:
- Any Banned or Restricted Breed using the field must have the following in place.
1. The dog is registered with the index of exempted dog (IED) and a copy of the life certificate is obtained and provided.
2. A copy of the public liability insurance certificate for the dog is obtained and provided.
3. The dog handler ratio is 1:1 at all times.
4. All guidelines under the index of exempted dogs are strictly adhered to and the dog must be:
i. Neutered
ii. Micro Chipped
iii. Kept on a lead and muzzled at all times (See above instructions for using secure field)
iv. Kept in a secure place, so it cannot escape (See above instructions for using secure field)

Please ensure the gate is closed once you are in the field. By booking, you accept our Terms & Conditions and safety rules, which apply to all dog breeds. Key rules include keeping all dogs leashed in the parking area and any zones outside the secure field AT ALL TIMES.
Other
- Smoking, BBQs, and fires are strictly prohibited on our premises.
- Please be cautious and avoid any contact between objects and overhead electrical wires to prevent damage or injury.
- No kites, drones or any other flying objects to be used:no football, rounders or cricket.
- We are not liable for any death, damage, injury or loss to any person, animal or third party while on the premises.
- While we welcome children to the field, please remember that they must be always supervised. You are responsible for their safety and ensuring they adhere to the terms and conditions. Please note that the secure area is not child-proof, and certain elements may pose additional hazards to children (e.g., non-child-proof dog poo bins).
- Personal safety is essential. As our location is in a rural area, if you are visiting alone, please take necessary precautions to stay safe.
- PLEASE NOTE: we must emphasise that we are strictly a quiet and peaceful Dog field where no music is allowed and groups are discouraged. We enforce a rule of being a quiet dog field and we ask that users respectfully do not make excessive noise to disturb our neighbours. Please enjoy and respect the surroundings. We reserve the right to cancel any booking and refuse entry to anyone we feel is likely to disturb the peace.
Disclaimer
- Our field and car park are not meticulously maintained parks, and the ground may be uneven. Please exercise caution while walking on-site.
- Please be aware that we do not provide lighting on-site.
- The Dog Field at Holker Lane and its management hold no liability for any illness, loss, damage, accident, injury, theft, or loss of life that may occur to any user (human or animal) while using our facilities.
- We cannot guarantee that all dogs that use the field are immunized, so the risk of infectious diseases is similar to a regular dog walk.
- Please note that water is not provided at the field. To ensure the well-being of your dog and prevent dehydration or overheating, we kindly ask you to bring your own water supply.
- We strongly recommend that users of Holker Lane dog field obtain insurance coverage for their dog(s) during the hire period, including third-party liability. This will provide added protection and peace of mind.
- Please be aware that your car and personal belongings always remain under your responsibility while using our field. Dog Field at Holker Lane and the management cannot be held liable for any theft or damage that may occur to your vehicle or belongings.
- The equipment available is intended for canine use only. We do not assume any responsibility for any injuries sustained by humans while using the equipment.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these guidelines for a safe and enjoyable experience at The Dog Field at Holker Lane. We reserve the right to refuse admission or evict anyone who does not adhere to these terms and conditions.
